    Filming at a TV/PC Screen

I'm not sure, but it might be something to do with the frequency of the TV in comparison to the camera? (Hz) What camera do you have? If it's old/not very good quality, then that could also be the problem.

    Compression in Sony Vegas

It was in .avi format. I'll try exporting it as MPG2 and see how much difference it makes, thanks.

    Compression in Sony Vegas

So, I've been working on a video recently and it's pretty much finished. The problem is, it's HUGE. 5 minutes 30 seconds - 1.2GB! It's ridiculous and means I can't upload it to vimeo. So I was just wondering, is there something I've done accidentally to make is such a huge file and is...

    Canon 550D Exposure Question

This thread has made me feel kind of ridiculous. Some part of me must have thought zoom was a prevalent part in films, but now that I've actually thought about it - the only film I can think of that used it in a non-ironic fashion is Jaws. I feel like a moron haha. (for the record I've never...

    action scene suggestion

The only suggestion I'd really make is maybe try a few quick cuts interchanging between guy and girl instead of the split screen? It's cool that you're trying something different though so feel free to ignore me! Also, I think any pace issues you have could be fixed with the inclusion of...

I'm impressed with your determination and surprised you're taking such a big leap with not much experience! Props to you either way.

Will a Science degree dent my film aspirations?

Thanks for the reassurance everyone and hey, even if film was just a hobby, that's not so bad. You're meant to enjoy your hobbies and even from the small amount of film work I've actually done, I bloody enjoy it.

Will a Science degree dent my film aspirations?

Firstly, I'm a new user here and I love this site - full of helpful people and information. Anyway, a bit of backstory and context: From very early on in my life I have dreamed of being a filmmaker and it's all I wanted to do until it came to my GCSE's. I went through those exams and came out...
