Hi - I'm new to this forum My name is Bobby and I'm from New York. A friend and I (a fellow film student) have decided to try shooting some lip sync footage using a CP 16mm camera with a crystal sync motor (Tobin I believe - it's a rental so I don't really know all the details). Anyway my friend has a Cannon XL2 and it records at 24p (smpte timecode), my question is: Could the XL2 be used as a sound recorder, for lip sync?. In theory it sounds like it would work but I've never done it before? The footage is only going to be used for practice, so quality doesn't matter. The film is going to be edited on Avid so it seems like there would be no need to resolve the sound track. Thanks in advance
Bobby
