This one is far shorter and a lot less interesting, but just as much useless.

These are pretty much just practice shorts to get used to filming. The first one was completely improv from the start of the shooting day to the end. The second had a vague screenplay. There isn't much of a story yet, but seeing as I JUST ordered my GH2 (Hooray me) , I plan to expand it into a crime drama series with a much higher production value.

This is the first time I've used a squib, and while it's not very obvious due to the camera angle, it worked great.

Interesting shot in #2, with that suitcase bobbing back & forth. Prepping your shots for a future 3d conversion?

Have fun with the GH2. There are some diehard users on IT that swear by that camera.

Looks like you might want to read up on proper lighting & proper exposure, btw. Lots of your footage is really dark in the foreground (where the actors are) and fine for the background (where nothing's happening).

Good fun :)

NO 3d for me. Haha, at least until they perfect the medium. What I wanted was a shallow focus with the suitcase goignin and out of it, but couldn't get it right because I didn't have an external monitor for the camera and couldn't see well in the actually dark hallway, so I didn't get the focus right. (Fortunately, the GH2 has an external monitor plug that I will be utilizing to my heart's content)

I ordinarily focus a lot on exposure and lighting. Because I think it's really important and is too often neglected (like I did on this one). While the short was story boarded, the hallway scene wasn't, which means that I was trying to run through what shots I wanted/ how to get them/ concentrating on stabilizing the camera (which I plan to make a dolly for once I get my GH2) and lighting for some odd reason decided to not even come into my thought process. :) Oh well I guess, just got to make sure it doesn't happen on future projects.

Some users on here are part of the reason I got a GH2. It just seemed to be the best choice for me right now. I hope to make full use of it.

And that's the point: fun. Until I get into it with an actual story and actors, these where just little couple minute bursts of sloppy entertainment. :)
