A best-selling author, Terri Gess, is suing Warner Bros over its hit film, "Gravity". She is not saying the company stole her idea, as in copyright infringement; she is saying it breached its contract with her, because it was supposed to base its movie on her book but didn't.
This is a very different argument, and it is similar to the one Art Buchwald used when he sued Paramount Pictures over the movie, "Coming to America" starring Eddie Murphy. Buchwald won, and it has since become a seminal case.
I'm going to watch this new one closely.
