Transition Issues

In FCP I'm making a little documentary thing. When using a cross fade, the clip being faded to or others in the frame tend to change in quality or something. Is this just a computer issue or will it still exist on DVD? And if so how can I fix this?

I don't work with FCP, but it seems that your computer has to render the transitions and in order to do this in real time, it uses a lower quality.
In general this should only affect preview inside your editing program and shouldn't bee a problem once you render the film for your dvd.
