Tips for filming on a Panasonic GH2?

Hi I've got my new GH2 camera so I did a bit of a screen test with it:

I am using cinema 1080 24p mode. No extra lighting just from the light bulb.
Can you give any tips? I notice the screen goes darker when I zoom in. Is this because there isn't enough light in the scene?
Also I notice that the movement is a bit more blurry than I expected. Are there any tips to reduce this? I assume that we want a bit of blur to make it look "cinematic" at the 24p rate. But it just looks like too much!
The reds are a bit shimmery but I suppose I should expect that due to compression.
Any other tips?
(I won't be filming puppets eventually but real people but they will have less patience!)

Don't know if it's appropriate to post on this thread, but... Just a second test, and very very important to me. This is not "low light", this is NO light. And since I intend to use an anamorphic lens which eats like 1 or 2 light points from the first lens, I'm infinitely happy to see the image absolutely free of noise in THIS dark conditions.

Also, trying to slide and rack focus at the same time; trying to maintain the tiny details in the dark regions (they are very crucial to the storytelling), and simulating the anamorphic aspect.
