The Olympia Awesom Film Festival is now accepting submissions

The 1st Annual Olympia Awesome Film Festival (or OAFF) is a brand new independent film festival located in Olympia, WA. It will be a showcase of short movies from around the country (and maybe even Canada).

12/22/10 UPDATE: Due to a certain situation, namely lack of submissions, we at OAFF are dropping the $10 submission fee. That's right, you can have your short film shown at OAFF for FREE! We'd love to show your movie! Send us a copy! Visit http://oaff.org for details!

There will be short films, two awards handed out, raffles, food, booze and a whole lot of awesomeness.

So come join us on Saturday, March 5th, 2011 for more awesome than you can handle, guaranteed!*

(* not a guarantee). Please visit http://oaff.org for details.

Here are a couple of videos we made to promote the event -

Did you make a kick ass movie that doesn’t suck? We’d like to see it. We’d like to show it to others at the Olympia Awesome Film Festival. Does your movie have a love story? A gun fight? Zombies? Aliens? A fight scene? A murder mystery or a drug deal gone bad? If so, send it in, because those all seem like the kind of fantasy escapism we like in our movies.

The goal of the Olympia Awesome Film Festival is to create a fun and awesome atmosphere for micro-budget filmmakers to showcase work that might otherwise be rejected by more conventional film festivals. We like our movies to be entertaining. We don’t need a treatise on the mating rituals of groovy “hep-cats” of our region that utilize out of focus camerawork, avant-garde production styling and is accompanied by a dissonant jazz soundtrack recorded on the lowest possible fidelity equipment borrowed from your brother who lives in a van downtown. Just because your stuff looks crappy and old, it doesn’t mean it’s good. We want to be entertained. We want to showcase the kind of movies that we’d like to watch. Genre narratives with a story that aren’t bound by trying to be anti-conventional.
