That "Thing" to attach to a DIY shoulder mount

I am making a wooden shoulder mount and it's about done but I can't find anything that will hold the camera to it. Is there an equipment where you can lock it down/screw it down and the DSLR camera will hold on it? Like in the tripod? I have a tripod but it is not removal. <_<

Any ideas?

You use a 1/4-20 screw for the bottom of your camera. You can find them anywhere, probably the most common thread out there.

Or, you could buy a quick release system and figure out how to mount that. Will probably mount with a few screws, then it's easy on and off for your camera.

Like Paul said, 1/4" -20 threaded bolt. You'll want to get a couple of differing lengths and a few nuts to fit.

Keep a few in your camera bag and you will find that you can make "hasty" mounts out of just about any thing..

I don't know what your budget is. For $30 I would mount a quick release pad to the shoulder rig and the plate to the camera. The pad should be mountable with small screws.

You also get the added advantage of being able to remove and replace your camera at will without having to figure out the balance point or truing the center line.

Thanks for the reply guys. So it's either quick release or 1/4-20 screw. I probably go to the screw. Much cheaper. Thanks for the info :]
