Shutter Island

Tonight feels like a good night to watch Shutter Island. A truly great movie adapted from a wonderful book. If you want a movie that will keep you wondering what is going on right up to the end, this is one of those.

Directed by Martin Scorsese

At the end of the movie, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) says
"tell me Chuck, is it better to live as a monster or die as a good man?"

I don't know what that means. I don't have any idea what he means. I think he is referring to his own situation where he is a delusional man who killed his insane wife in a fit of passion because she killed their 3 kids and is faces the possibility of being lobotomized if he can not accept the reality of his actions, but how does that make him a monster? How would being lobotomized make him a good man? I just don't get it .. I mean, the line sounds good but it just doesn't make sense.

Didn't meant to come across that way, but I really can't even recall this movie. I don't know why.
