it's worth it to spend the money on the panasonic hmc150. Do not bother with the hmc40. It's to basic.
What do you mean by "basic?" We are used to our DVX100B, looking to make a switch to HD
What are the differences between that and an HMC 40?
Also, HMC 150 is twice the price of an HMC 40, so that, for us, anyways, makes it prohibitively expensive...

I have the same question, I set on purchasing a DVX100B and came accross the HMC40, I want to know if I should just go with this newer HD model or not
CMOS (called 3MOS here) versus CCD chips. CCD chips win out for sure, and they are substantially more expensive.
Better Leica lens on the 150, so better glass = way better images.
