From what I'm hearing, even the VFX extras alone are worth the price of the disc.

Broken On Televison

BROKEN ON TELEVISION - The BROKEN guys have been ask to be guests on the television show "The Screening Room with Jonathan Krane." Mr. Krane is a mega producer whose credits include: Swordfish, Face Off, The General's Daughter, Phenomenon, Look Who's Talking Trilogy, Domestic Disturbance, & Basic to name a few. Here is a current Article written in the Hollywood Reporter:

"Film producer Jonathan Krane is stepping in front of the cameras, signing on to host the new indie film-focused show The Screening Room for a high-definition TV station in West Palm Beach, Fla. The series, which will air on WHDT from 8-10 p.m. Mondays starting Oct. 3, will feature a "watch and discuss" format with either three 20-minute films or a full-length feature, followed by Krane (Look Who's Talking, Face/Off) holding discussions with the filmmakers or cast involved in the project. Krane said the show will give the films a chance to reach a wider audience than, for example, just festivalgoers. He added that he intends to ask "hard questions" about how the filmmaker's original vision matches up with the final product and hopes that viewers learn something about moviemaking."

The BROKEN guys will be on Monday, Oct 17th @ 8pm on WHTV. The shows aires in Boston and South Florida to a possible 10 Million viewers. HOLY COW!! We are soooooo excited! Tune in a tell us what you think.

Hey Everyone,

Our guest appearance on "The Screening Room with Jonathan Krane." went AMAZING!!! Mr. Krane (producer of Look Who's Talking, Face/Off, Swordfish) was extremely pleasent, supportive, and overall super cool. Here is a few things he had to say about BROKEN: "Excellent directing, camerawork, music, production design, and very well edited. The production value is truly amazing for $8000. The story is intriging and as a viewer you want to know more. Very nice job, you guys have talent." It was a big thrill for Jorge and I to meet him, to be on the show, and pick his brain a bit. After producing over 45 films he has a little experience. ; ) Check out his IMDB: Jonathan Krane

Here is the info on when the show will air:

Film producer Jonathan Krane is stepping in front of the cameras, signing on to host the new indie film-focused show "The Screening Room" for a high-definition TV station in West Palm Beach, Fla.

He added that he intends to ask "hard questions" about how the filmmaker's original vision matches up with the final product and hopes that viewers learn something about moviemaking.

"It's not going to be a typical show where I ask about what it was like working with so-and-so as an actor, but more about the filmmaking process," he said. Krane said his ultimate goal is to start sell the show for national syndication, but he's taking a wait-and-see attitude as to whether he might try to bring in a distributor or sell the show himself.

WHDT, which is operated by MIG Broadcast Group, is co-producing the show. MIG president and CEO Gunter Marksteiner pointed out that the films will be converted to high-definition when necessary and that the shows will be shot just days before their airdate to "keep them current." WHDT is carried on Comcast (Channel 162) and Adelphia (Channel 17) in the West Palm Beach market, and the show will be available to about 2 million viewers when it debuts, Marksteiner said.

He added that the other stations operated by MIG -- WHDN in Boston, WHDT in Miami and WYDT in Naples, Fla. -- will start airing the series in January, increasing its availability to more than 10 million viewers.

Not really, we made BROKEN before SAW came out, but I did like it ; ) :D

Looks good.. Just ordered a DVD, which you should take as a huge compliment.. I rarely buy DVDs.. and am usually not impressed enough by most smaller projects to even consider it... (No offense everybody, I'm a picky bastard.. cheap too)

You guys ship those DVDs EXTREMELY fast! Just got it in the mail, looking forward to watching it here in a few minutes.. I wonder if I can pull up WHTV on my satellite... if I can I'll have to check out the show tonight too!

this is awesome!!!!

Unrelated to the actual subject of this thread (the trailer looks great BTW), how did you get a quote from Roger Ebert? I would LOVE for an actual KNOWN critic to see "Waiting on Alphie." The best we've gotten so far is on pajiba.

Thanks man!!! No, we did BROKEN before SAW was released. Though FIGHT CLUB, SEVEN & ROBERT RODRIGUEZ were a huge influence on me and BROKEN.

Here is our posting:

We just got back from the Toronto Film Festival promoting BROKEN. While we were there we ran into the legendary film critic Roger Ebert from the Chicago Suntimes & Ebert & Roeper fame. Mr. Ebert is possibly the most powerful and influential film critic in the USA. We spoke for a few minutes, he then asked us if he could take our picture for his website and of course being the media whores we are, we agreed. He told us that he NEVER reviews short films, let alone an indie short that does not have major distribution.

Well, credit must go to Jorge. he continued to talk to him about our project and Mr. Ebert finally agreed to accept a copy of BROKEN on DVD. Not only did he keep true to his word but he watched BROKEN when he got back to the hotel that night and wrote a POSITIVE REVIEW for it on his website! (we are still trying to revive Jorge ; )

Here is a bit of what he had to say "A festival like Toronto attracts hopeful filmmakers eager to pitch projects and find financing. Here, for example, are Alex Ferrari and Jorge Rodriguez, the director and producer of “Broken,” a 19-minute, $8,000 horror film containing, by their count, more than 100 visual effects. .” They refer me to their web site, www.whatisbroken.com, and back at the hotel I viewed the film and visited the site. The film is effective and professional and the ominous sound track works with the images to create the desired effect. Broken” is essentially a demonstration of the mastery of horror imagery and techniques. Looking forward to “Broken: The Feature.”

We were at the right place, at the right time.

Good Luck with you project!

Alex
