Making Skyrim film

Hi! This is my first post, so :D I'm a 16 year old white male. Now you have a demographic.

I love the game Skyrim and decided, upon seeing my brother play it on his PlayStation 3 (I haven't played it) to spend $1,000 on a Helmet, shield, axe, 20+ things. I'm making a movie now. Anyone wanna join? I need someone who is good with CGI. Or, if you happen to live in Virginia, we could film a fight scene together. I have a preview on my YouTube channel https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Mh2ARXF9FWs

I can think of several CGI scenes I would need. Dragons are a big focus and must be perfect. Here's a list of CG things I could incorporate, whatever is the easiest to create and the best looking: Dragons, orcs, goblins, trolls, medieval town (arial view), skeletons, giant spiders

Creature animations aren't my thing, unless they don't do a whole lot (don't have a lot of spare time to animate them) But the medieval town views would be very easy. And far-away shots of dragons flying around like they do in the game would be a piece of cake

How well can you render a medieval house? I need one by a lake outside a forrest at sunset. Lots of lens flare. Just one simple, slow downward pan scene. I want it to be visually impressive. Like, realistic water, green grass, real looking house. Maybe a little fog. I can pay if it means it will be very good. The Hobbit movies did this well. The town of Dale was beautiful.

Dragon far away is doable as a quick CGI effect (mind you the last time I did one it was quite cartoonish).

Fog is pretty easy as well.

I agree with Mussonman - close up orcs, goblins, etc is hard to do, and best bet would be to go with actors etc. If your deadset on CGI then prepare to pay for that as its not a quick turn around.

As for your locations, I have some stock footage from around Europe that could be of interest (and on that note I really need to start uploading that stuff - but 4K takes a long time); could be potentially used as a basis for the CGI.

Nice ambitious project.
I see you want it finished in 4 weeks...
That could be a bit tight, especially with a great CGI dragon.
Few people can pull that of all alone in a short amount of time.

Do you have a script?
Do you have a crew?

I have a script. The movie will only be 5 mins long. I want quality over length. I have all the props. I almost have all the CGI. Filming will take a few days. I know CGI enemies is impossible. I also know I can't order more armor for multiple actors as that would cost a lot. I'll figure it out.

Lots of money on props.

I agree with the others for orcs and goblins you're better off using makeup on actors, but if you're expecting any of this to come out looking like the hobbit you're going to be in for a rude awakening.

Where does a 16 year old just get a grand to drop on props like that!? Aside from my jealousy ( ;) ) I hope everything goes well! Be smart about your budget CG is expeeeensive.

Yeah. But at that time, filmmaking wasn't much more to me than another way to perform comedy. I was doing improv and stand-up at that time and only owned a camera to record sketches with my troupe. I didn't really get into filmmaking and VFX and CGI and all that until I had to pay for food and electricity. Then it got harder :(

True... I wish I had saved more of my money when I was living with my dad, had a job, and no bills to pay. Could've bought my equipment years earlier

Pick up an extra job.

I moonlight as an "escort" and then when the nights over I get them on the hook for psychic readings at 9.95 / minute

really though I've never been all that good at saving either.
The first time I had a job, in HS making 16.50/hr programming I stopped doing laundry and bought new clothes instead

I'm married with two kids and I'm the only one with a job. There isn't a chance of me having another job, aside from some freelance film work I do here and there (anything that allows me to work from home, preferably on weekends is great. Especially since i rarely sleep)
