watch Inspired by 808: XRATED

Thank you Jeff Palmer/Flicker Pictures for inspiring this. (Any reason to play with new toys is good enough!)

And another big thank you for making available the assorted xray aberations!

I've just begun tinkering with Adobe Premier Elements 10 and have managed to totally FUBAR the fine resolution between originals to final.
Eventually I'll figure out where I buggered it up.

Mee-yowwww!!!

Hey! Very cool, Ray. Hope your mouse hand ain't too sore. ;) Where'd the "blood" come from? For a second I thought my laptop was a goner.

I only have stock transitions for Premiere so I might be looking into getting Elements. Seems like a good product and the price can't be beat.

Thank you, sir!

Chroma Key Dripping Blood:

Ripped it, converted it, edited just the snippet I needed, inserted it, hit it with chroma key + luma key + RGB Color balance.

You can get APE10 bundled with Photoshop Elements 10 for dirt nothing:

I haven't EVEN begun to fool with P Shop.
I haven't fooled with that in twenty years.
I suspect it's changed a bit, and I've made due in the meanwhile with MS Paint fair enough.
Although, I just bought a Windows 7 to ditch my W XP, so now I kinda gotta learn the new MS Paint again a little bit.
I must be getting old. I liked the other version better.
The new paintbrushes are a PITA.

Somewhere in on the other side of the world a diner is pointing to this vid and saying to the waiter "I'll have this one w/ rice & veggies"
I like eating... never mind. :D

I remember when I rewrote the Bible. Boy, was Tennessee upset! :)
AKA: WTH?

All this talk about assets up the assets has me looking for a stalking Jeff!

Ray, I will never be the same after watching that - and I saw 808, or 8008 first. That damn Decimator bit crush effect, all those bones and assets. I feel like I was in a Giger nightmare fantasy.

Gives me an idea for another film... titled... XRAYTED.
ALRIGHT!!!
Sounds like my porn debut!

I'm in touch with my "disturbed side". :)

There's nothing worse than a bone in your asset.
Don't... even get me started on the image search to refute that proclamation.

What does it say about me that I found it very relaxing...kinda soothing!
Very much enjoyed :)
With you it's appropriate to differentiate between audio & visual. :)
Which of the two did you find soothing and relaxing?

BTW, who else around here does Adobe Premier?

How can I make the tiny yellow audio band more pronounced?

I couldn't have come anywhere near matching/semi-syncing with the beats (such that they were) without the "Detect Beats" tool, which I admit is fine in principle, but a little tech wonky for me.
I would prefer to just match things up visually, but I need a better audio band display than the default 1cm strip.

Can we scale that weenie little audio band wider?

Gracias!

EDIT UPDATE: Alright. I see that the Video 1/Audio 1 tracks can be manually widened, so I guess it's the "Soundtrack" and "Audio 2" et al tracks I'm looking to broaden.

Point taken ;)

Visually soothing. The audio was okay, but didn't really grab me one way or the other. More specifically, the track seemed like it was ABOUT to go somewhere a few times, but never really did. But tonally pleasing; I liked a lot of the sounds, just not necessarily the composition.

OMG, I so agree.
I listened to just about all 300+ public domain songs at this one site alone (plus a few dozen others elsewhere) to find a soundtrack that would geehaw with the two visual elements I already knew I wanted to work with: Jeff/Flicker's cat x-ray aberrations + (naturally) cat x-rays.

The worst part is when you're hunting down a specific unknown among a big ol' heaping pile of material and you find a song you like for yourself, but you ain't got time to sit and listen to the roses.
Candle's a burnin'. Chop. Chop. Git your ears back to work, dum-dum.
And I'm not going to go back and hunt the three or four down. Pfft. Like I got time?

But, yeah.
A whole lotta near misses as far as "good music" goes.
Honestly, I kept drawing the parallel between audio and visual: there's a lot of the same "technically it looks fair" material here. And lot of "technically it sounds fair" over there.
And I suspect it has little to do with "This is so-so, so I'll let it go Public Domain" vs. "This is better, I'll retain full Copyright on it."

Ain't no tellin' with bees.

Hey, that's why people like me are around ;)

I know what you mean though. It's a balance, particularly when you're starting out. On one hand, you want people to hear your music, so it's good to get it out there. On the other hand, you've worked hard on it, and it'd be nice to buy lunch. And then when it is out there, there's so many other people doing the same, how do you get yours noticed?

And the undeniable fact is some people just aren't good. Browse soundcloud sometime. There's far too many "hey, I'll string these few loops together and call it a song" compared to people who really, really work at it. Hell, my work now is worlds better than it was a year ago.

Same with film, really.

Yup.

Creativity is a commodity.

Everyone with a little creativity thinks they need to make something. Sometimes a lot of something!

7 billion people.

...4 billion part-time artists. "I'm special! I'm uneeke! Love me! Pay me!"
+ 3 billion people saying "WTH is this cr@p?"
= 7 billion critics.

You need to be more supportive. :)
