Hi, I was approached to film 3 sports games (about 2 hours each) and edit them to give back to the coach of the teams for training purposes. I have never done "client" work before let alone for sports. What should I charge per hour?
I think it is too late, would something like $15ph be too much? It's probably too late to ask, but asking "Did you have a price in mind" can help determine if you're wasting your time.
That sounds like a good idea, thanks. I don't know what you mean by region but I do live in Ausralia if that means anything.I'm not sure where Jack Johnston, but prices are different region to region. You may be happy with $15/hr. It seems too cheap to me, but if you're getting started it might be a good starting point.
If that is your aim, perhaps start by asking for $20/hr and be willing to go down to $15, or put in some extra time etc.
I don't think they are looking for a professional broadcast here. Just training videos. A lot of sports teams, are just looking for game film, so that they can watch with the team to point things out. Typically this is the rawest form of video, single camera, single location and just panning across the field/court. The editing would be super minimal, just cutting out breaks in the action. 15 dollars an hour is fair.
