Hi, I'm the new guy!

I'm an amateur/beginning filmmaker. I've been making videos for a while ever since I got a hand-me-down phone with a camera 9 years ago in middle school. I shot my first ever video (that I remember) on that phone which was a ten second video of my friend walking down the stairs in his house, then he notices me and goes to playfully hit me, but the video stops recording just as he was about to strike. We both laughed and from that point on I knew it was something that I wanted to keep doing. Fast forward later, I used my cellphone to record fun videos, got my first taste in editing when I discovered the "pause" feature on my cellphone which meant we could do teleporting videos. Fast forward some more and I saved up for a digital camera that was used to make fun, improv video skits. Some years and several broken digital cameras later, I sit here now. I saved up money over the last several years for a T2I which was something I wanted for some time now, even though I know there are better cameras out there like the 5DII/T3I/etc.

I'm inspired by people on Youtube who make short skits, short films and actual films. I like art, I like creating things. I want to follow my passion and make videos for a living. My filming doesn't limit to making videos, but I also like recording my life whether it be in photos or videos.

I want to take it to the next step and continue learning and while I was looking for filmmaking communities, I found this place. I'm a little overwhelmed because I feel like the small fish in the big ocean, but hopefully I can make some new friends and learn a lot from here.

Hey, how's it going?

I don't know if the T3i is much better, the differences seem to be minimal, at least from what the camera guys tells me. Why have you broken previous several cameras?

Welcome Grasshopper!

I'm one of the audio guys here.
