Hello from a cinephile

I am an award-winning director and scriptwriter from Morocco. After moving to Budapest at the age of 19 to pursue a BA degree in Film & Culture at the University of Eotvos Lorand, where I earned the Best Thesis Award for my research on Long Takes and Continuity in the Narrative of Filmic Language, I furthered my studies at the University of Oxford, completing a Master of Studies in Film Aesthetics, with my research focused on Moroccan Cinema and national identity.

My directing journey debuted with Icarus, a short documentary achieving recognition at various international film festivals, securing the Bronze Award for Best Short Documentary at the 4th Quarter of the Queen Palm International Film Festival in California, Best Short Documentary at the International Film Festival of Oued Noun, the Grand Prize Award for Best Short Film at the National Film Festival of Cinema of the Margin in Guercif, and the Jury Award for Best Short Film at the International Film Festival of Casablanca.
