Garbage matte on Sony Movie Studio?

Hey all,

I have Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum HD 11, and I want to attempt a garbage matte. I am unsure of how to.

If anyone knows a way to do it, or anywhere you can get plugins, I'd really appreciate it.

I use Vegas Pro 8, and don't use it for compositing anymore since AE is so much better. But iirc they way you do it is to go into the 'Event Pan Crop' for the clip, then you check 'mask' in the little timeline in the window. Then you can use the pen tool to create the mask. If you need to keyframe the mask you can do it in that same little timeline in the window.

Not sure if it works the same way in MS 11, but see if you can find that.

Importing and exporting between AE and another program is a pain in the neck. I use to do that with AE with Final Cut and Premiere. When Vegas came along, I switch and haven't gone back since.

New 3rd party compositing software that works within Sony Vegas is due out this year.
