Has anyone else looked into equity crowdfunding? Since the passing of the JOBS Act, crowdfunding projects can now give out shares and equity in return for money given to the project - unlike Kickstarter, where you can only give incentives like DVDs and T-shirts.
It sounds like it could change the way Indie films find financing.
The production company I work for has put together a Fundable page explaining how our equity crowdfund for a short film would work. I both want to bring your attention to our project, but also really feel like this is something cool to check out for future projects. Investors (friends, family, indie film investors found online) can invest and become shareholders in the film, and see a return on their investment if it makes money.
