EF-S lenses on a Canon 5D - any luck?

Currently shooting a project on a Canon 5D. Looking at a 10-22mm EF-S lens to help with a scene coming up, but want to know if anyone here has tried modifying an EF-S to work with a full frame camera like the 5D and has it worked? I've seen posts online at other sites about modifying the lens to mount on an EF body but have not read in particular success stories with the 5D.

Any thoughts, experience appreciated.
Thanks!

The flange focal distance is different in EF and EF-S lenses, so you physically can't put an EF-S lens on an EF-mount camcorder as it literally 'won't fit'.

It's that exact reason that you can't modify PL lenses to fit on a 5D.

EF lenses will work on an AP-C (crop) sensor Canon (EF-S), but it doesn't go the other way. Only EF lenses will work on a full frame Canon without adapters, and there isn't ant adapter that I know of that will make and EF-S lens work.

For a wide lens that will fit, try a Tokina 11-16mm or a Rokinon/Samyang/Bower 14mm. Both are pretty great and look really sharp on a 7D, can't vouch for them or how much distortion you'll see on a 5D but there are tons of reviews.
