Cool wifi/iphone powered LED

This looks like an interesting tool for the indie filmmaker:

http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/kick-light/

It connects to your iphone over wifi and has an app that lets you dial in intensity & color, as well as do things like match existing light colors, strobes & patterns, or even use a video to drive the color of the lights.

I can see a ton of applications for this, especially where people are working with mostly existing lights - while many of the cameras we have now can shoot well in existing light, using a few small LEDs to shape the light in a scene (rather than just brightening things up) can really make a difference in how good the final video looks.

Plus the unique capabilities could be useful for certain effects. It can flash red/blue to simulate a police car offscreen, or using a video to drive it could create the effect of a lighting from a television on a person's face. Or for simulated night driving scenes you might be able to use a video of lights to create the effect of cars going by. Or use video of fire to simulate the lighting on an actor's face from a campfire. It just seems like a useful tool to have in your lighting toolkit.
