video Connecting Canon EOS M50 Mark II to Blackmagic UltraStudio Express

Hello everyone!
I have run into a really harsh situation and very much need help from you video professionals.

I own a Blackmagic UltraStudio Express device that connects to Windows 8.1 (Boot Camp) on Macbook Pro 2015 via Thunderbolt 2 port.

Since my older video camera connected to UltraStudio Express via HDMI port is properly recognized in Blackmagic Media Express software, i was sure any other newer camera would also be easily recognized by UltraStudio Express via HDMI, so i bought a popular and highly suggested camera - Canon EOS M50 Mark II that has a micro HDMI clean output.

No matter what settings i tried UltraStudio Express does not display any video from Canon EOS M50 Mark II, only a black screen.

There is no issue with the micro HDMI to HDMI cable or Canon EOS M50 Mark II itself, because i connected it to a simple monitor via HDMI and video displays just fine.

Could it be something about the HDMI video signal Canon EOS M50 Mark II sends out that makes it incompatible with Blackmagic UltraStudio Express HDMI input?

Could it be that the problem is about Blackmagic Desktop Video Windows 10.3.5 version, and installing a newer version could help detect video signal from Canon EOS M50 Mark II?

Desperately looking for an advice.

Best I can suggest is to contact Black Magic or try their website help forum, since it's so specific to UltraStudio (which I've never used) I can't specifically help with troubleshooting your issue.

This sounds rather similar to a problem described on another forum recently, by someone who couldn't get their new-ish TV to accept a signal from a brand-new graphics card. The consensus on that discussion was
Yea, this sounds like a HDMI compatibility issue. The RX580 is HDMI 2.0, whereas the 6700xt is HDMI 2.1. Both should be backwards compatible with HDMI 1.4, but there are always corner cases with this. I wouldn't go as far to say your TV is on the way out, but it sounds like it can't handle newer HDMI devices.
The workaround in that case involved using a display port adaptor to help reconcile the two standards; if you have any similar pass-through gadget available, it'd be worth trying.

That sounds as very probable issue and worth trying. Thank you!

UPDATE: After some reading i assume Canon EOS M50 Mark II has an HDMI 2.0 output since the device offers HDR Support (as sugested here), while Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Express has a HDMI 1.4 or even HDMI 1.3 input since it is a quite old device (starting 2012, and HDMI 2.0 release date is September 2013).
Yet i am not sure on my assumptions.
