Canon AX-10, XF100 or XF300

I have been spending far too much time looking for Cameras and not actually filming anything, For the last few years I have been using my 600d with nice enough results.

I want to change to a dedicated video camera. I wondered if anyone has any experience with these three cameras.

There's a big difference in the price and they seam very similar.

I shoot mainly shorts and have recently been asked to do some web based adverts for some local companies.

so much choice, I just feel frustrated as I dont want to spend £4000 if £1500 will achieve the same results,

thank you in advance

Hi Deeve - any particular reason you want to move to a small sensor camcorder? If not, to keep the large sensor DSLR "look" in a camcorder body, you might want to look at the £3199 Sony NEX-EA50.

Here is what this camera can do: http://vimeo.com/78621343

And with a £23.50 adapter, you can continue to use your Canon lenses.

If you are still interested in the £1499 XA10, £1799 XF100 or the £5450 XF300 - here is a side-by-side spec comparison from slashcam that you may find helpful: http://camcorder-test.slashcam.com/compare-3db90b25e418ee7a8a4f7170e8f6ef53.html

The XF100 and XF300 are clearly the superior camcorders, with a pro 50mbps 4:2:2 codec.

Here is Philip Bloom's review of the XA10 and XF100 from a few years ago: http://vimeo.com/26184320

Hope this is helpful!

Bill
