It's our first outing with out new HD equipment. The short doesn't have the feel I wanted due to the actor's performances. I don't blame them though, one is new, and the other's first time acting was for this.

We had major trouble with the lighting. There was sporadic cloud coverage, which caused it to switch between harsh and soft lighting. We are a poor crew of 5 people, and can't afford any type of sun blocker/screen.

Going for that type of gag really needs an extreme on both ends, I 'spose.

The part that had me chuckling was watching just how inept the first guy was trying to start the fire with no tinder,etc. You could tell he really had no idea.

I did think the eagle scout was an axe murderer at first, so you got me there.

I think this clip could be funnier with better acting and timing. I am struggling with both of those issues in my own projects.

Thanks. And yeah, the actor actually doesn't have much camping experience, while the Eagle Scout does, but those parts weren't written for them actually. Haha

It seems that most people starting out will have to deal with new actors.
