anyone willing to help with my lighting?

Ok so i'm working on a short horror film, a spoof and a test to see how good i can make something turn out. I know very little on lighting. If i were to post a picture of the story board and pictures of the actual location itself would anyone be willing to help me figure out how to light scenes good? It will be shot at night, at a house but mostly outside of the house.

I would love to help. I'm a big fan of lighting and I work as a grip/gaffer professionally. Here's a link to the most current webisode we shot. Using all available lighting with the added benefit of a couple bounce cards and one small LED. It's a good lesson in learning how to control the light more then just adding illumination. Let me know if you want help.

Happy shooting

what do you mean include all ambient lighting? like porch lights and stuff?

Your lighting setup will need to take into account ALL sources of light, not just the additional lighting you will have but the sun, the time of day you will shoot, indoor / outdoors, florescent lights, skylights, lights that will be in the shot...everything that glows or shines

If you shoot outdoors at high noon on a sunny day, you will be fighting the sun. Cams have a set latitude of range they can capture a good image without areas being too bright or too dark. See "Zone System" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zone_System

Sometimes you are better off trying day for night because most consumer cams have horrid low light abilities
