Hey all,

I am a new guy from the SF Bay Area in California who is venturing into film making. I don't have the finances to take classes or go to school for it, but thanks to the wonderful tool that is reading, I've decided to give it a go! I've been self-taught in all of my hobbies (mostly music & photo editing) and have really high hopes for this. I feel like films are the ultimate form of expression. I have some good experience with After Effects and Sony Vegas and am hungry to learn even more.

Anyways, I did a search for a good indie film maker forum and this place popped up, and am I ever glad it did. Seems like an awesome place, and I look forward to sharing my work and having some great discussions here.

Welcome Mike! Nowadays, anyone can become a filmmaker without going to a film school. The world itself is a big film school if you think about it (internet, library, learning from other people).
