Hello everyone!
I wanted to get your opinions on age restrictions.
Recently, a film of mine got flagged and then age restricted by YouTube.
Now, I kinda saw something like this coming, seeing how the film deals with suicide.
So at first I didn't really mind that much.
Lately, however, it has been bothering me a bit.
Reason why? Well, there are so many violent videos out there that have got thousands more views, google ads, features on the homepage etc. and they're not flagged. FilmRiot (not to bash them in whatsoever!!!) has even hosted a monday challenge centered around headshots. Not even to mention stuff like Happy Tree Friends and DIY film tips on slitting wrists and throats. Even FreddieW has a lot to do with death and violence. (Again, not meaning to talk dirty about the people and videos mentioned above).
It just proves the point that violence doesn't quite seem to be a big thing on YouTube.
So if it's not the violence, it must be the (very) mild nudity in my film.
If that's the case, I don't have any hope left for humanity and youtube.
These issues have been raised before. That agressive violence is fine, but a vague non pornographic nipple.. isn't.
Anyway, I really want to get your opinions on this matter.
Personally it annoys me.
Thanks for reading and I hope I posted this in the right place!
