Film Is Dead

I started very late in film making (only started a few years ago) and I trained on a V300 Dv camera, and my camera is also DV, almost all "new" consumer cameras are going SD card/HDD and I've just now started to get comfortable with DV/film lol. As I am looking at another camera, I'm having to familarize myself with the SD/HDD technologies, so it's taking some serious learning!
From my perspective, someone who films mostly for the art side of it and simple creation, I can take my time I guess in slowly changing over-my livlihood isn't dependent on my films.
Time marches on I guess, just a bit sad to see all the things I am familiar with going into the past.

Television was one of the last vanguards for preserving the business of shooting on celluloid film. The most successful shows could warrant the cost of shooting, processing, and color correcting film. I have used HOUSE M.D. as an example repeatedly as one of the last holdouts, but it turns out they are acquiring digitally....
