When you are collecting release forms from your crew and talent should you make the agreement between:
their name and your name
their name and your company's name
or their name and the particular production's name
Is it not troublesome to have so many papers on your name?
Is it easier to have...
I understand that we should take into consideration all these..
But I was wondering about movies already sold.. and as you say: what genre was it? was it in English? etc. so why was it sold at that price?
It's more of general discussion - I don't speak for a specific movie or something I am...
Hey, Really helpful posts!
@Alcove Audio The books and links you suggest sound perfect!
Very helpful post..
I totally agree with you - sound may be even more than half of the experience..
I think that you can watch a film with 'bad' image but not with bad sound..
I'm so grateful for your replies!
When calculating your film's budget, how much / or what portion of your budget would go for the audio needs?
Also, who is the man who is responsible to find everything audio related? And what do you normally expect from him?

It would also be helpful to post a link with an audio that was recorded the way you suggest..
I posted in 'On the Set' section but I guess you could suggest anything (ADR/Dubbing for example)

Wow, Great!
Thanks, that was really helpful -

I imagine that you should be advised by a lawyer for all this - but...
Your screenplay is ready and you want to start pre-production..
What's the usual way to go about it?
What job needs to be done before someone else's job steps in?
In what order?
For example:
1st.Storyboard Artists
2nd. Concept Artists
3rd. Art Director
4th. Costume Designer
etc.
etc..
I know I...
Question says it all.
All answers are welcomed - Movies you have heard of, movies you personally sold - even any exceptions you may know about!!

When people create things for your movie (concept art, storyboard etc.) should you own the material in order to act on it (sell it, show it)?
Should you have them sign a contract - even when no one gets paid in an indie production?
How do you usually go about that?
And - because we talk about...
I wonder if it's possible to sell only your theatrical rights?
I know that it's possible but I don't know how common it is.. (for indie films)?
Theatrical is my main concern because with VOD and DVD-on-demand services it's lot easier for me to distribute through there..
And I also wonder what...
