Anyone else hate when they do this in thrillers?

If you only knew how many times I've posed in my blackie tighties next to my obnoxious gun collection. I don't measure my robust-itude in girth.

Anyone else hate when they do this in thrillers?

I only complain about it in movies that are supposed to be serious. There is literally nothing I love more than a campy '80s action flick. Could any of it happen? No. That's why it's awesome. But when you've got an actual "thriller" there's no excuse. If you can't afford a gun guru I'm more...

Anyone else hate when they do this in thrillers?

I hate it when an "Expert" has a gun malfuction and panics. He pulls the trigger, you hear a click, he charges the bad guy. He pulls the trigger, the gun stops working, he fiddles then gives up (throws gun down or equal). There's literally only so many things that will make a gun not go bang...

It'll take some tweaking to find what's right. With the video I posted I had to the twist the PVC to shift the weight so I could balance correctly. Just to test it out, add that second weight, hold it by the handle, and adjust (the length of PVC or angle) until the camera points where you want...

Thanks for clarifying lol, I just skipped the comment out of confusion.

Ever notice this with pistols in movies?

That may or may not be correct. It's relative. There's literally only two things in this world I know a lot about 1.) Guns 2.) My Daughter... nobody wants to have a conversation about my daughter.

I have to disagree. Lets say you have an 1873 Single Action Army clone, using the sights with a six 'o clock hold you fire a round and miss the bull. That's because on those old revolvers the point of aim is virtually NEVER the same as point of impact. So what do you do? Spray and pray...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mA-t8SaJ3VU As promised. I built one of these a while back. It worked pretty given the expense and effort put into it. I ended up dismantling it for multiple other rigs.

Thanks for all the input folks. I think since the first ending is so incredibly simple I'll film it and do Ray's alteration on the second. I'll post the results and maybe you guys can vote on something legit... get ready to wait though. My buddy works offshore and we only get to work on film...

I don't know about Lawyers, but anytime guns and cold hard cash are involved I'm IN!

I only ask because the weights would only serve as a counterbalance. If you're 5 pounder plus a second weight = significantly more than your camera then your balance is all thrown off. I have a link favorited on my home pc about a similar device. If I think about it I'll shoot it to ya.

Looks like you could trim your horizontal arm a tad, and add a 45 joint. add another length of PVC, and put a weight on the end of that. How much does your camera weigh?

Tom Knapp can shoot a falling clay target with the shotgun upside down with his arms fully extended above his head. No sights, but there's definitely a sight picture there.

Guns and Insurance sounds like a BA movie title.

Bar none the best ending! I just don't think I could do a bomb without SERIOUSLY deducting from the production value. But maybe the explosion doesn't need to be seen.... "Hotshot" looks the satchel over, close up on his hands flipping the latch open, there's a beat, then a click/beep sound...

He's actually not really a smart guy, he's just smarter than his partner. I suppose I could have shared the title, "The New Hires". This is actually their first job. That's what I was thinking, but I'm still fighting with the first ending. I'm also a little afraid of making the short far too...

Don't confuse iron sights with SIGHT PICTURE. Sight picture is how the gun looks in your hand in relation to the target, or bad guy. I hold the gun at eye level, get my sight picture, and press the trigger to the rear. 90% of the time point of aim on a pistol isn't the same as point of impact...

I posted the script a while back, but in a nutshell, two guys are contracted to kill a man that has stolen money from a hotshot. The standard dynamic is in play, pinky and the brain if you will. The smarter character is quick to preach to the other character about fairness and greed. Eventually...
