    Clipping during audio transition

Hello everyone, I have a deadline for a film and I only have two days left and I'm extremely irritated with some clipping that is going on when my audio transitions. I'm not sure if clipping is the right term, but basically what happens is I have a dialogue scene, with a few different audio...

    Filming in public

What exactly are the rules/restrictions/guidelines/etc. for filming in public? What if you're a 17 year old with a cast of teenagers making short films for YouTube and you wanted to film in a public location, say a library? Or downtown? I read that you don't need any permits or permission as...

    Glidecam HD2000 and T3i

I just put together my Glidecam HD2000 today and I'm using it with my rebel t3i and a kit lens. I'm having trouble balancing it correctly. I've been doing trial and error for a few hours, with not much improvement. Any advice? what have you done to improve balance? thanks

    watch The Biohazard: Part 3

A lot of the zombies would shout random words (often profanities) during the filming as a joke, so I had to cover them up with something. In part 3, however, I had the actors make their own zombie noises and mostly used those, with a few L4D sounds in there every once in a while. Those sounds...

    watch The Biohazard: Part 3

A year ago I started a short film zombie series called "The Biohazard". It's done fairly well on YouTube, and today the third part went live. I've embedded it below, if you have some time give it a watch - i could use the feedback. And if you're really interested i've included the links to part...

    watch first "horror" movie

I usually mess around with guns and special effects, but on my Nerf channel, PDKFilms, I haven't uploaded in a while so I made a quick video (filmed and edited and uploaded within 6 hours). We just made it up as we went and it ended up going from sketch and strange to completely i dont even...

    which audio equipment

I have a zoom h4n (which I love) and I use an audio technica shotgun mic and a wind sock and get great sound outdoors. But it all really depends on whether you'll be filming indoors or outdoors

    watch The Care Package

Thanks for the advice, I was thinking of cutting closer and refining my cuts to keep it fast paced. As for the end I know exactly what you mean! I had a shot list that called for like 5 different angles except i ran out of space on my card and I had to delete some minor scenes just to get that...

    watch The Care Package

I thought I'd share my latest action-vfx short film, "The Care Package". It was my first time shooting in low light conditions and I used a canon 50mm 1.4, and I was fairly impressed with its superb ability in low light :) anyway, here she is (watch in HD on YouTube for best experience!!!)...

    First zoom lens

Hi all, I have a canon rebel t3i and a 50mm 1.4 and kit lens (18-55mm) and would like to purchase a zoom lens for, well, close up shots from far away. I film short action films with vfx and airsoft guns and I need a lens that can zoom in far so I can get a sniper scope point of view. the...

    Sound problems...

thanks guys i fixed it, and yeah I must have accidentally had the zoom recording mono, because usually it records just fine and when I play it back on my comp I have no problems. I'll have to mess with the settings on it later.

    Sound problems...

Well I started editing my footage from last weekend's shoot and realized while I started syncing my audio (I use a rebel t3i for video, and i get audio from a Zoom H4N and Audio-Technica AT897 shotgun mic) that for some reason the sound coming from my shotgun mic is only coming out of the right...

    emergency lighting

Everything went well, I use a Rebel T3i, but when I went to the location to "scout" it out I used the crappy kit lens. Back in may 2011 when I first bought the Rebel T3i I also bought a canon 50mm 1.4 because so many people told me to. I've never really used it because I've never filmed in low...
