watch 'Work in Progress' First Teaser for my first project.

 Yeah maybe. In answer to the previous comments about the acting, I wouldn't say it would be completely wrong to describe this project as a comedy/horror. In fact I'm attempting for the first half of the film to resemble the comedy aspect, hamming acting etc then for 'something' to...

watch 'Work in Progress' First Teaser for my first project.

Wow, thanks for your feedback. The idea, for the trailer was for not to give too much away, and the black spots were pretty much just filling up scenes that i hadn't filmed yet. Again, just messing with what i had. Also with the title, i wanted something that didn't give too much away. I'm...

watch 'Work in Progress' First Teaser for my first project.

Sorry for double post, but how do i embed youtube videos on here, rather than just making a link? Plus if you do have any feedback on the trailer i would fully appreciate it. Thanks :)

watch 'Work in Progress' First Teaser for my first project.

This is a VERY rough, work in progress, teaser trailer for my first ever project. I still have more to film (its certainly taken its time), but thought I would try and make something from the footage I already have. The style of film is 'Found Footage' and there is an air of 'Blair Witch' to...

    Some Blatant Clueless questions.

Thanks for your replies guys, apologies for my late reply but I was having trouble getting back onto this site. I am a clearly not a businessman so I do feel a bit lost with all this. I will try and look into it though, I guess I'm gonna need it.

    Some Blatant Clueless questions.

Hi all Hope you all had a good Easter or otherwise weekend. What with the arrival of my new filming equipment I am one step closing to starting on my first feature. However something has struck me which for some reason I never really thought of before. I was wondering if you could possibly...

How come the Blair Witch Project cost $30,000 to make?

So how does it work exactly? They sent the film off to a festival, which a studio picked up. Did the Studio then give them an X amount of money for advertising, 35MM blow up and such? The $30,000 production still bothers me though...:s I imagine they wouldn't have had a catering service, more...

How come the Blair Witch Project cost $30,000 to make?

I know it cost a lot more what with finishing costs and such but the initial production cost the filmmakers $30,000! How is that possible? From what I gather they had 2 cameras and actors working for free. Can anyone enlighten me on how it would cost so much? I find it very concerning.

    A question about copyright.

Thanks guys, that helps a lot.

    A question about copyright.

If I were to have one of my characters, in my own film, quote a famous (or even no-famous) line from a film would that be infringement? For instance I have one character trying to teach another character how to say 'Who is your Daddy, and what does he do?' from the film Kindergarten Cop. The...

    DV vs SDHC?

Which format of camera do you prefer? I'm still deciding on which camera to pick :bag: and rather then looking at SDHC format cameras, I've gone back to look at DV/HDV. The reasons for this are that I always worked with DV in past (University, side projects etc) so I am familiar with it. Also...

Apologies for this, but I need some camera advice....again.

Well Night shot/vision isn't super important. Its not like every project I make will need it, its just an added bonus. the HM100 does look good, and the whole .mov file is very handy. I will still think about it, but do you know of any other cameras that capture to .mov? I really don't want...

@directorik Could you give me a bit of insight to the JVC hm100? How do you find it? What's it like in lowlight? Can you attach a small light to it?

.mov file directly to SDHC sounds perfect. I'll look into the hm100.

Dammit, I weary of converting too. May I ask what you use to film and edit?

Apologies for this, but I need some camera advice....again.

Really? Because I tried to convert it using Quicktime and iMovie but it just wouldn't read it. Would you suggest a DV camera instead? What is the HD quality of them like?

Apologies for this, but I need some camera advice....again.

It was a SONY HXR-MC50E HD I have the latest iMac with with MAC OS X 10.6.6 The camera didn't have a firewire connection, it was just a USB and the camera would record the footage and into files that weren't readable on macs or Final Cut Pro. I'm just thinking if it does have firewire, it...

Apologies for this, but I need some camera advice....again.

I am really sorry, it must be a pain in the arse to have to keep dealing with us 'Newbies' and our constant camera questions. But I assure you this will be the last one from me......hopefully :bag: Anyway, I've had a few issues with the original camera that I purchased a couple of weeks ago...

    Shotgun Microphones.

@NickClapper: here's the camera:http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/6108002/art/sony/hxr-mc50e-high-definition.html Thanks to everyone else's replies. I was thinking of using alternative methods of sound recording such as Radio mics, but what would I need for that? Sorry but I am a little...

    Shotgun Microphones.

How good are they? The camera I am getting comes with a detachable shotgun mic and I was wondering if this would be good enough to capture dialogue? Especially outside and inside a moving car. Or would you suggest an additional sort of mic? Thanks in advance :)
