Some advice as we prepare to make the camera decision

Check out the Sony pmw-ex3. My next buy for sure. Great at low light, probably not too expensive to rent. Workflow is supposed to be a breeze in final cut and it shoots to a memory card which is pretty handy dandy.

    Schooling options

Besides the huge no school/school debate that is constantly going on, first thing is first, where are you from? I was enrolled at Vancouver Film School (www.vfs.com) but sadly I couldn't make it due to a lack of funds. I have toured it 3 times and still want to go. Sadly it is not within my...

    DSLR VS. HDV

Good to know. I have found quite a few XHG1s's in the $3000.00 range, and won't be spending much more than that. If I was going to spend around $6000.00 I would go to the EX3. The EX's do seem to be leaps and bounds ahead of the Canons.. Good thing I have a couple months to make up my mind...

    DSLR VS. HDV

SO I have been toying with the idea of going to a DSLR versus buying a new HDV cam. I currently have a canon HV30 but have been considering upgrading to a canon XHG1. I have been seeing a lot of people using the EOS7D to shoot indies and the canon T2i has now popped up as well. Is their any...

Sundance - Not reaaaaally for independent films

Of course having a "known" actor will help. But if you want more info on what Sundance is looking for, I suggest reading "How not to make a short film" It is written by a Sundance panel judge and really opens your eyes to what they are looking for. It applies mainly to short films but I am sure...
