so is there a standard rate to charge people or is that up to me, i dont wanto undercharge yet overcharge. i dont have the money upfront unless i get funding ( which does paying your workers come out of that ) and if so how much is a standard rate, would it be like a normal job, per hour figure?

Hey guys, If one has a production company and you get friends/family to help you with the production side of things, do you legally have to pay them? or is it if it sells you have to pay them then?

how do you do it indietalk? what device do you record onto? and im guessing in post you put the sound and movie together?

sorry if it sounds dumb, but do you have to buy a MiniDV HD tape or do you use MiniDV (and select a option on the camera to record in HD)

indietalk, is what your saying you have your camera with a lead to the mixer then the boom to the actors? if so the sound still records on the camera is that right? and also what does the sound mixer do exactly.

thats what i am trying to work out now. If need be i will be incorporating DOF and tring various lenses and filters for the feeling of the film. I worked it out i can save say for about 12 months and get a XM2. I can hire a HVX2000 for about $400 aud a week (290us). What would you do?

Hey guys, just wanting to know what these days is the best way to record audio when on the set. I read that they used to use DAT machines, but is there something newer which is recommended?

so the ones that have MiniDV slots does that mean you can tape in SD with them and also HDV in HD, Im assuming there both the same size or?

If you have a HD Mini DV camera does it film HD onto the MiniDV or do they film onto something else??

Hey guys. I am wanting to shoot a short film and just wanting to know as i dont have the money to buy a top camera atm, should i rent a camera out for a week (A1S etc) or save my money and in around 6 months buy a $1000usd camera. What would you suggest?
