You have to actually shoot some film to see what it will do for you. What I mean is, what film will bring out of you as a creative artist. Film is a different canvas and requires different disciplines than video. Shooting film is a process, a journey, not a destination.
A piece of advise I got quite awhile back was to first write the movie without dialogue then add the dialogue in after all the visual sequencing is worked out. I find it helps me understand what it's going to take to make the flick interesting. Making shorts visually interesting is not easy and...
You never know what you can get in an odd lot sale. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's a box of junk. Recently I bought an odd lot from ebay. I mainly bought it for the Moviola film cranks that were the main item in the lot. There was also a Bell & Howell projector, six split reels and a few...
The tests on Vimeo were done by Cinelab not me. I would ask them about their test directly. Some of there test looks over exposed, a good test to see what the film can do.
I'm hoping to shoot a short with it in the near future if my money situation improves.

The 25,000.00 I mentioned was from regional broadcast rights over seas not DVD sales. The distributor felt there would very little in DVD sales. I should have clarified that in my previous post.
I agree with Directorik, producers are looking for good scripts. That's their business. The trick as...
I like to look at it this way, selling a script is a wholesale transaction. Someone has to turn it into a movie to get retail sales. So I need to have a script that can make money for someone else. Having a track record of making someone else money is a good thing to have when selling anything...
I shot some Orwo UN54 100ASA film and had it processed(reversal) at Cinelab. I didn't have it transferred but I must say it looks really nice. UN54 can be processed as negative or reversal. Here are some link to tests that Cinelab did with this film stock.
Negative test...
