I just reread this excellent article on rerecording (the mix) by Walter Murch. I thought some of you would enjoy it, especially as it has the stems from "Apocalypse Now." In some ways it's a bit dated (cutting and premixing sound to film/tape), but the philosophy and process remain the same.
