I'm working on a documentary project at the moment and have a sigma 10-20 at my disposal. Shooting on a Canon 550D/T2i. Was just considering my lens options. Whether I should rent (extremely expensive) or buy a decent zoom and let's say the Canon 50mm 1.4. I was just wondering whether the footage will cut from the 50 to the sigma (ie is there a big difference in image) and what zoom could I throw in the mix if all was good. My budget for a zoom would be 300-400. Not a lot for a zoom I know but .. hey that's indie filmmaking for ya.
