Rendering Ratios

Hey guys I recently have been trying to find the write resolution to render in for a full screen tv. I've heard 16:9 but what does that translate to for a full HD resolution. Because first time I rendered it out and watched it, things were cut off the top and bottom when I rendered it in 1080x1920. So pretty much what is the correct resolution for a full screen TV

4:3 raio TV in HD would be 1440x1080.

I haven't seen an HD television in 4:3 raio since they first came out though. Most 4:3 televisions are SD, or 640x480.

HD resolution is 1920x1080. Just sounds like you've got the numbers round the wrong way, and the TV is compensating by blowing up the image.

Otherwise, you might have an Overscan setting turned on in your TV menu.

If you choose that resolution though, be careful your rendering system doesn't think you're trying to do HDV and change the PAR from 1:1 to 1.333:1, bringing it back to 16x9...
