Question about audio tracks in FCP

Hello guys.

This is a really noob and perhaps stupid question but here it goes: Today i shoot and interview with two wireless microphones connected to the camcorder; a lav mic in CH1 and hand mic in CH2.

But what i dont understand is why when importing the videos in FCP, there is 4 audio tracks and not only 2?

That is really confusing me because i dont know which one is really the CH1 and CH2 recorded in the video.

You recorded with what? If it's a four (4) channel recorder then yes, you might get four channels, two of which could be blank.

It was recorded with 2 wireless microphones (both receivers connected to the camcorder) and the camcorder is a PMW-200.

But the funny thing is that i think i remember (i dont have the project here with me) that all of the 4 tracks have audio. I guess i even delete track 3 and 4 and still have audio.

The PMW-200 records to audio 3 & 4, and if I recall correctly there's no way to keep that from happening. It can be from the built-in stereo mic, or from external 1 & 2.

Simply delete the extra tracks and move on.
