Is Canon 24m f1.4 worth getting?

I'm not sure if i should get the canon 24mm f1.4 lens. I've seen review that it's better then the Sigma 24mm f1.8 but a whole lot more expensive. The purpose is to shoot video usually low light on my 7d. I have a Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 but it's still too dark but the 50mm f1.4 is great.

If it's too dark - add light.

Sigma and Canon both make decent lenses. The difference between 1.4 and 1.8 is maybe 1/2 of a stopish, so if you need that extra ~1/2 a stop of light..
But then, is the 1/2 stop of light worth the price difference? That's up to you.

I rented once the Canon 24mm f1.4 and was very impressed. I bought the Sigma 24mm f1.8 and I was always unhappy about sharpness. Since two weeks I have the Canon 24mm f1.4 and I'm very satisfied.
If you can, buy by beginning the best.

Sigma makes horrible lenses. Cheap canons look nicer than sigmas, nice canons look WAY nicer than a sigma. The Rokinon lenses are pretty stellar for the price too, happy to see they started a Cine line!
