Hollywood is not getting its money from China.

Hollywood's films are making money in China, but the China Film Group is refusing to hand over the money, because it wants Hollywood to pay a tax which Tinseltown doesn't want to do.

I don't know who is right, but, given the behaviour of the studios over Hollywood Accounting, I'm not sorry for them.

From what heard about this the Chinese have decided to add VAT on movies after they have aired in China which wasn't mentioned beforehand.

It's swings and roundabouts with China but I can't see the relationship changing much. China is too big a revenue to simple be ignored and likewise Hollywood would have known about chinas shady dealings. I remember reading somewhere that the individual cinemas skim a % of each films takings daily before submitting their figures and as much as $20mllion of Avatars gross 'went missing'.
