Dude about ENCORE: 4:3 - 16:9 ??

Hello,

I import a 16:9 video in my Encore DVD project.

But Encore puts it in 4:3.
Timeline is 16:9 but the video inside is 4:3.
However the original video is 16:9.

Which is the problem?
How can I maintain the video in 16:9??

Thank you very much,
Fran.

does the burned DVD playback wide screen? Try burning it before freaking out. :)

DVD is Standard Definition video and is made for 4:3. For wide screen DVD the pixels are tweaked to make wide screen fit in the same data as a 4:3 would. The DVD player will figure out how to play it on the TV. Widescreen, letter box on 4:3 SD tv's etc..

Are you talking about the preview (and it is showing black lines on top and bottom?) (Not sure if same in mac as pc but on pc...) go to Edit--> Preferences--> Preview and for the TV mode use the drop down box to set to 16:9

Hello,

Im working on Mac, with Encore CS3.

The problem is the next:

Im importing a video in 16:9 aspect ratio.

If I create a new 16:9 timeline and insert my 16:9 video, Encore converts it in 4:3 (with black lines on left and right).

I see this in Preview mode.

So, I would like to know why it occurs..? And how can I solve it..?

Thank you very much,

Fran.
