Looks pretty cool, although I don't know how it sits editorially if you're blending soundbites into a single, cogent piece of speech. Seems like, at worst, it could be used to manipulate people's statements, or, at best, could be unintentionally defamatory.

But I guess it's good for non-doc work...

This could be a dangerous tool in propaganda. (US elections of 2016 will be a great testing ground for this tool )
But very usefull to edit out that 'uhhhhh' without having to use B-roll.

Whilst I share the ethical concerns, the effect is only new to adobe. Avid has had a similar transition for a long time - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzyKei1_4Vw

I imagine the effect would only work when the two clips are relatively similar?

This looks really cool, but I'm not holding my breath for it to be awesome until I see it in person. It looks like they've used ideal scenario clips to demo it... ie: there is hardly a noticable cut as it is.
