I have a Panasonic GS150 camera, and I have been looking into getting a shotgun mic for it. I have a few questions though. First off, is the little clip socket on the top of cameras standard so that every mic will fit? Also, some Sony mics seem to say they're for compatible Handycams--does this mean such mics wouldn't work for my camera? Thirdly, when a mic says it's powered by the camera (no batteries), can any camera (i.e. mine) power it through the standard cable?
Also, if anyone has any suggestions for a decent mic in the sub-US$100 range I'd love to hear it. Thanks so much.
