Idea Global Impact Film Fest: CALL FOR ENTRIES: Great Exposure for Filmmakers

****Filmmakers accepted will have the opportunity to be featured on the Global Impact Gallery website and DCBX news as part of their Discussion Den Series online. Read on below for more details. Upcoming Deadline: June 30th on Withoutabox.

Short Documentary
We are looking for documentaries that provoke and inspire change. We want to motivate our audiences to react to the current issues.

Short Narrative
"Storytelling is at the heart of the human experience". The short narrative can be either dramatic or comedic that makes an impact on its audience. Our audiences want to be entertained.

The Global Impact International Film Festival, sponsored by DCBX, is a dynamic independent film festival that focuses on cultivating global outreach, celebrating Latin culture and supporting non-profit organizations. Our mission is to empower lives by celebrating the power of media for social justice. We showcase films that provoke and inspire social change.

This year’s theme, The Emerging Power of Media for Social Justice, will showcase films that provoke and inspire social change.

Last year, GIFF was honored to have Academy Award nominated and Emmy-winning cinematographer Bill Butler, A.S.C., as our Keynote Speaker. Mr. Butler spoke about his wealth of experience as cinematographer on award winning films like Jaws, Grease, Rocky II, III, IV and more. Directly following, we screened fifteen powerful short films followed by a lively Q&A session with the filmmakers.

For our second annual festival, we will be having a very special Keynote Speaker. We will be screening short films in two categories: Documentary and Narrative.

The following awards will be given to the selected winners at our Awards Ceremony:
Best Documentary, Best Narrative, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Audience Choice Award, Global Impact Award, and more.

Each filmmaker selected will not only have a chance to showcase their work, they will be interviewed as part of our Discussion Den, an intimate conversation with attendees, which will air on DCBX news.
This year’s schedule is packed with thought provoking, informative and inspiring films, discussions, lectures, panels and workshops.
