Editing software?

I've just recently started studying film and television and I need software to edit my videos. I have access to good editing software at TAFE but I'd like to continue working on them at home as well. Are there any FREE editing programs that I can download to be able to do some basic editing at home other than Windows Movie Maker? Thank you

Resolve 12.5 has a free edition. It sill needs some improvements (mainly for convenience), but I otherwise I love it.

A big attraction for me is being able to edit and also use Resolve's excellent color grading all in the same application.

You need a specific video card for this software to work (CUDA), but you can try and see if it works.

If you want to be good in the film industry, you're going to have to spend some money. There's no other way around it.

I don't agree with your statement about money, but I'm interested. Please explain how Resolve 12.5 will hold me back.
