Australia NTSC or PAL?

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of format is used in Australia? Is it NTSC, or PAL?

Another questions, has anyone used both of these formats, and what are the benefits of the two? I wonder if this world will ever have a simple standard. . .hehehe.

AU & NZ use PAL

They also have more horizontal lines on a regular tv, compared to America. Forgot what the numbers are, though.

North America uses NTSC
France uses SECAM
The rest of the world - PAL

And hopefully, all of the world will soon be one (HDTV)
