Idea no idea what im doing!!

Hey people of indietalk! I am baby's bottom new to the industry. I dont even have an educational backround in film. But I am thoroughly intrigued, and dedicated to beginning an independent career. I am in the developmental stages of a small time local talent project in my home town of Bozeman. My partner and I know enough about film to have begun, and I'm teaching myself screenwriting as well. I'm particularly here to meet friends and advisers who are willing to express some ideas, and give me pointers. Thanks to anyone who's got a moments time to help a dumb kid trying to live his dream.

Gotta start sometime, right?

Lots of people here on the forums to talk to, about your ideas or even just filmmaking in general.

When I started making films I didn't have an educational background
in film so I can relate. I made films anyway. A lot of them. That was
mt background in film.

Indeed. Welcome to the wonderfully interesting world of video production and filmmaking. I think, at the end of the day, what one really truly needs is passion for the craft. It's what's going to drive you through the long hours, the frustrations and the constant visits from Murphy's Law. There are tons of tutorials, videos, sites and books out there that can help someone teach themselves what they need to know about the field. As well as generous, knowledgeable people who are more than willing to share what they've learned when asked. Educational backgrounds are nice, but it's really about the hands on experience... and sometimes the educational programs on this topic have outdated methods (this industry moves so freakin' fast!) SO, live that dream! Life's too short not to

Video Production
