Arri Alexa Rental?

I've done a google search, but can't find very many prices listed. I'm trying to compare with RED rental prices.

Anyone know a good place in Los Angeles, and how much I'm looking at for a basic package for a full month rental?
The best I found was $5,000 for the RED One. Anyone have a ballpark for the Alexa?

This is where you need to leave the internet and make
some phone calls. Better yet, if you're in Los Angeles,
make a personal appearance. Each of the websites you
have seen have a number to call for a quote and an
address. You might be able to save quite a bit of money
if you show up in person with proof of insurance and
ready to negotiate. If your schedule is flexible and you
make a good impression on the rental folks, you can
get a cheaper rental during their slow time.

If you do not want to negotiate and only want a quote
call them with your dates.

Thanks for the advice. I've always been terrible at negotiating, this might be where I need to hire a smooth talking producer

I know in London an Alexa kit is about £750/day before
you rent lenses.

But asking for deals is always a must; I have a student
friend who managed to get an Alexa with a set of master
primes for £1500 for 10 days!

I don’t mean a hard bargain. I mean walk into the rental house,
tell them you’re schedule is open and ask if they can help you
with a good deal. Or walk in with your set dates, ask for their
weekly rate and then just ask if they are willing to make a deal
for a four week rental.

You don’t have to come back with something better for you, just
take a few minutes to get to know the people at a couple of the
local rental houses. Ask them about their rates and what they
offer. If you are the one comparing rates then YOU are the producer.
You don’t need to be a smooth talker, just a guy trying to get a
movie made.

Everyone at the rental house is tired of smooth talking producers
trying to bargain with them. Ask - talk to them about what they
offer - let them know what you’re doing. This is the very definition
of making contacts. You did a Google search so you know the places
in L.A. that rent the Alexia - time to find out what they charge.
And meet the rental folks.

My school was looking at renting an Alexa before they decided to buy one (only school in Canada which will own an Alexa, and a Red One). According to them its $5000 a week for the camera +Kit.

In Aus, Alexa production kit rental runs up about $1600/day +lenses... not cheap
Of course, for some reason, everything here tends to cost 2-3x that of the US... Maybe it's our comparatively small industry...
