Apple and DVD media?

I have a PowerBook and am starting to use FCP.
I tried to burn a DVD on some Memorex DVD's (DVD-R) and it failed twice.
Can someone recommend good DVD media to use with my Apple Powerbook?
Thanks!
Ron

Edit---My bad miss read your post. I use the Memorex DVD's with FCP and DVD pro and I haven't had to many problems. Most of the problems I've had were formatting, but that was operator error.

Formatting? What do you mean? Maybe I'm formatting wrong too...
but I was just using iDVD; added a project; it started okay, but spit out the DVD after a while saying the media was bad.

At my old job, when we burned a DVD, CD, or VCD the same thing would happen. We were all getting pretty upset with it until one day when the stupid disc popped out I popped it right back in at it finished the job. We never had it happen again. Sometimes machines can be cranky.

Hey, I've got the same sort of setup, and I've read a lot on this subject. Apparently Memorex dvds are infamously bad for not working with Apples. I guess the reason is that Memorex has a lot of different companies make their dvds. You're better off going Verbatem or just about anything else.
