up-converting

in the movie 28 days later the footage was up-converted to D-1 tapes. Does anyone know how to go about doing this?

Upconverting is just a transfer process in which you are going to a better quality format.

ie: Betacam, to HD ... etc...

Just remember that when upconverting, even thought the final product is a higher quality, the real resolution is still the same as the original lower quality format. 16mm blown up to 35mm is still 16mm resolution just at a 35mm frame size.
